Even things that would ordinarily be quite easy to source. The only possible reason a modern (post 1980's) BMW needs a factory only manifold gasket is because BMW wanted it…

This isn’t about the car, this is about engineering for *pedestrian* safety. A bumper like this will deflect passengers to the side of the vehicle so they don’t get unnecessarily crushed. It’s already been tested against cows but since europeans are a bit slimmer we’re now retesting it on sheep.

Clearly it is time to pay Europe back for those tacky bumpers we got starting in the mid-1970s.
