Thank you, this article irked the crap out of me with this ‘last 5 years’ snark. UO was the very definition of sheep vs wolves. I was actually okay with it but ultimately you had to learn not to get too attached to gear or expect that you could have a ‘jolly dungeon adventure’ without roving gangs of player killers

I sincerely hope your current Suzuki affords you well over 300k sans rebuild. I have friends who owned both Vitara and Grand models, they did not make it that far. When your engine starts smoking at 130k(ish) it’s difficult to determine how much longer the rest of the drivetrain would have held out. I’ve no idea how

I look forward in great anticipation to Cadillac’s entry. If the engine is under 800ci or the trunk holds under a dozen dead hookers you checked the wrong boxes on the option list.

Citation please? It really doesn’t matter whether you personally do or not, there are literally enough people who do to affect the water supply...this is the same exact deal, hence the analogy.

Suzuki offers a straight-6 that goes for at least 300K and similarly reliable transmissions/rear ends? This is important news and should be shared with everyone, not just the Illuminati/Suzuki Manufacturing LLC.

Hell yes? I’d much prefer the 4x4 option in my LS based Prius because (for most cars) that’s 3x more awesome, doubly so for one of these

Well played

My father was hit by a Peterbilt tractor.trailer when I was around 10.

Perhaps he was just eye banging it from Lacross the room?

Words spoken by someone who has never owned a truly crappy ‘new’ car.

It didn’t have any of the legendarily reliable drivetrain bits from Dodge, it had whatever Suzuki had laying on a shelf. That is very arguably ‘not better’.

Less deserved than the Ford Exploder (because Ford chose the absolute cheapest tires they could find as OEM tires), there was nothing really wrong with the actual vehicle.

“the minivan market in my area is not great, it seems. Unless you want a Dodge Caravan with 60,000 miles for 12k.”

A decent used minivan is in no way expensive. If you spend more than 4K on one you are doing it wrong.

Given that our regular trash ends up spending the next 100 years sitting in a pile under some plastic yes, i agree that would be better than what happens now.

“if you want a car that can move more stuff, with a kid, and be reliable and affordable, there just aren’t that many non CUV options”

So...lets wrap up, a ‘dealer car’ (not sold by a dealer, sold by craigslist) who claims “ITS ALL THERE” is our main selling point?

To be fair...they did kind of screw up many things for short term gains (not you personally, collectively by big business and the politicians beholden to it), you personally didn’t get a choice one way or the other.

Is it capable of being lighter? I agree that even a flipping Suzuki Samurai was a better off-roader (making this article moot) since this wasn’t a 4WD car. It was a FWD car with an optional AWD transaxle.

I’m personally holding out for the I Dream of Jeannie reboot. Not because it’s a good idea, mind you. I just want to see a few SJW heads explode ALA the movie ‘Scanners’.
