Collusion/Lobbying by the oil industry + Knee-Jerk laws enacted by the state? California can only come from California, from sustainably harvested free range dinosaurs with a healthy dose of carburator destroying alcohol. As such we have like 4 refineries and if any one of them has an “accident” our gas prices go up…
I believe the date you were searching for was called “the 1970s”. Certain people make way more, most don’t make a dime more adjusted for inflation. Certain people make less.
Half assing with class leading engines? Yes economy of scale (since virtually any modern V6 or V8 from GM is a LS motor) is indeed a thing. Ford does the same, and although I’m not sure if the Coyote is currently shared I’m quite sure it will be.
“If anything is going to kill the Supra, it’t going to be the msrp....”
1965 Dodge D300. It has a bad case of skin (and floor) cancer but is otherwise a peach. No re-pop body parts that I’ve been able to find and not something you’ll find strolling the junkyard.
“It’s also the only series you can watch a Prius run faster than a Lamborghini.”
Good luck. I have had to take apart and solvent bath two carbs in the last year and I only own three (lawnmower, blower and trimmer). They do not perform well on CA spec gas and perform worse when built to CA emissions specs vs federal ones
That’s not what the law says at all. The law says arrested on a (very often spurious) DV complaint = no guns.
I would love to restore my current ‘patina’ car but it’s fairly difficult to do that when most of the restoration parts dissapered 30 years ago. It would be equally absurd on a modern (1990s) car since those parts have dissapered in less than 20 years
You lost me at #metoo and domestic abusers since that (while a genuinely real thing) exists, all it takes is one crazy ex-girlfriend to destroy you.
Fully granted, especially (since I live in California) every small engine takes multiple pulls...and very possibly a yearly carburator rebuild/cleaning in spite of all that.
Far too many implies we don’t have a constitutional right to them. While I disagree with most of the times they are used (vs people) I challenge you to live in rural Alaska without one...for bonus points you can try it in rural Detroit/Chicago.
Please inform the LAPD stat, I’m sure they’re anxious to learn this.
You’re not wrong but Edd had plenty of screen time to actually explain stuff vs jump cuts of sparks and 40 second engine swaps + manufactured drama that you get in pretty much any other show in the genre.
I would also accept Fiero, Corvair, or Cien
The laws of physics? (lower drag and less weight). Also the rise of Japan in the 1980s. This is not racist hate speech but on average they are...not so tall.
Thats a problem in a lot of sports cars. My Supra (for example) is quite comfortable at 5'11" but any more and you’ll be driving with your seat reclined way back. I don’t recall the C4 Corvette being any more “height friendly” either.
