“You sound like one of those people in the south that still aren’t over the Civil War’
I know they were used to fund Hitler’s army and that their factories were used to build military transports during the war (hence the allied bombing attacks), but yes they never built submarines...
Honestly the seats in my 76' TA were the most comfortable ones I’ve had. Plenty of side bolstering for turns and super comfy. Those vinyl seats were fully adjustable too, they went both forward and backwards.
So... Volkswagen will die? Serves you right you Kraut bastards (and I mean that, several of my relatives died in the merchant Marines shipping food to the British prior to the USAs formal entry into WW2). It was one of the most dangerous professions there was, with almost 300k noncombatants killed in U-boat attacks.…
Formula changes tied to (IIRC) like 3 refineries that may shut down for “maintenance” during the changeover and drive gas prices through the roof are though, there’s no way to import fuel from out of state.
Why not buy an old one? You’ll never get a new one here if for no other reason than the thing that made it fun, (nearly) zero safety standards add lightness.
The one thing that nearly sent my 1980 Corolla to the crusher was literally a $2 vacuum valve. (in my state even 30+ year old cars must pass modern smog inspections every 2 years). Eventually I was able to scavenge one from a 1986 car with an entirely different motor but if I hadn’t...what a tragic way to go.

So...pretty much like the subprime home loans that crushed hundreds of millions of people worldwide, except with freaking Mercedes SLs and whatever Mitsubishi still makes that costs more than 20k (since they will literally throw cars at street people, just like the Incredible Hulk, but with predatory financing instead…
Denied. I will compromise on no blackjack but come on. This isn’t some roller “concept”, they already made the whole thing 16? years ago and could have put it into production until some bean counters from corporate accounting crushed our dreams.
Obligatory reference time...
I can also imagine a turning radius that matches an 18 wheel tractor trailer. By 1971 that car was already the size of a Chevy Suburban, more or less...plus how on Earth are pimps going to transport their hoes in a 2 seater? They’d have to go in the trunk and that’s traditionally only used for dead ones.
Now now, Ford and (virtually everyone else) have had decent OHC engines forever. While I agree that the LS is a beast GM might need to play that card, especially now that The People’s Republic of California is challenging the right of Federal cars coming into their “country”. This is hardly the first time they’ve…
