In my headcanon the Bruce Spence character is the same guy. There’s nothing really contradictory about it, and there’s a lot in common between the two roles.

It occurred to me; if the Jokers in jail in this film, what if all the tattoos and the mouth bling are just him making light of his situation, playing the part of incarcerated criminal. And they are all fake. I can see the Joker doing THAT. Also, what would his mouth look like if Bats had knocked a bunch of his teeth?
