My 2012 Camaro SS has skip shift and I almost never encounter it. You only have to make it rev to 2,500 - 3,000 rpms, or something like that, and it doesn't kick in. It really isn't a big deal.

I've had one of these on my 2nd gen iPod touch since day one, and it still looks perfect. Also using one on my iPhone 4s with great results so far.
