The Trabant was a rip-off of a pre-war DKW, not an early 50s design. Issigonis’ design was truly revolutionary, the Trabant was an outdated junkpile even when it hit the market. The Mini was everything the Trabant was not. It was much faster, handled really well, had acceptable brakes, a fairly decent

When I was a little boy my uncle took me to Berlin in a car. We had to go through the DDR on a cold morning, and the row of Trabants ahead of us was spewing noxious fumes. I will never forget the miasma of two stroke exhaust and brown coal burning house heaters. And you couldn’t escape it, it just went on all the way

Innovative? It was a rip-off of a pre-war two-stroke DKW. The only reason this thing didn’t have a metal body was that the DDR (East Germany) was dirt poor and didn’t have the money. Duroplast was cheaper, and of the higher-ups nobody cared that these things were deathtraps, not only for the passengers, but also for

Your weekend trip will end when someone runs into you and the whole cardboard-drenched-in-poisonous-resin bodied tank-above-the-engine junkmobile goes up in flames, simultaneously burning, poisoning and crushing you.

Baby blue, like the old Landrover Discovery.

It is better to not get into an accident than be optimally protected if/when you do. With shuffling you can not provide quick steering input when needed and are more likely to be unable to avoid a collision. I also have not seen any evidence that ‘crossed arms’ is even significantly increasing the danger of injury.

One can hope at least one of the trucks had a dash cam which captured the license plate of this brain dead specimen.

@MontegoMan562 if you can not slam on your brakes without crashing your vehicle is not roadworthy. I have an ancient truck with drum brakes in the back and as long as the system is reasonably well maintained you should be able to brake hard without crashing. I agree that ‘not slowing down fast enough’ is a bullshit

Just as much of a mess as most modern cockpits, maybe even more so. If you are looking for the best-looking Lamborghini cockpit of all time, this may be a candidate:

Why would a supercar be defined by HP?
I’d call a Caterham 620R a supercar with only 320hp, but a better power to weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron, which would be a supercar by your definition. Or a Camaro ZL1 1LE, which lapped the Ring faster than a Koenigsegg CCX.
OTOH the Dodge Demon may be a cool car, but I

The E9 is still the most elegant BMW in my opinion. I’d love to own one, but they have become insanely expensive in good condition. Is yours a Leichtbau-Coupe?

I am building mine right now, it’s a lot of fun and looks amazing. Grab it while you can!

More complicated than it has to be. I have one of these:

Automatic headlights would fix that.

Beaten with the ugly stick, outside and in.

I was driving home from work one rainy night around 10PM in my old Volvo. Not a flashy car by any means, but a bit faster than it looked. I was going about the speed limit (100kph) when I rounded a corner and came upon a Honda CRX that was going about 30kph below the speed limit and proceeded to pass him.

And why does one have to mess with a touch screen to run the wipers? No speedo, no physical switches for important functions => no deal.

You should mention that buying the Mavic from a dealer, that is not DJI approved, the drone will not have warranty through DJI, they make that very clear in their terms. MassDrop is not an approved dealer according to their list. I personally would not buy a drone without a warranty for a savings of $50.

The real problem here is that congresscritters are exempt from the havoc they wreak. The first rule for the US government should be equal treatment for all, which includes politicians and yes, even the president. Pay them fairly, but make them eat their own dogfood. If they realize all of sudden with their smoking and
