cody 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what exactly is their plan for the appointment process? It's handled by the senate, which is nonexistent and hookstratten can't fill in as a house member (unless appointed as a senator ofc). the thing is, most of the states allow their governors to appoint senators so the process can be completed pretty quickly.

there was a nice vibe of classic simpsons humor throughout. subversion of expectations that felt real.

we'll see when it airs, but it strikes me as having the same problem as drop dead fred, not knowing if it's for kids, for adults or some mix of the two.

so, drop dead fred the show?

kind of a shame considering how good hammond is at trump. He's 60, so I don't know if it's an age thing or if he lives outside of NYC (I think the announcing is tapped so he doesn't have to live there) or if he just wanted a break. unless SNL just thought baldwin would be better, which is just wrong.

we elected the wrong carter

I agree, but with this show, it could be that weird mix of hokey and idealistic to actually mean it.

If Hookstraten (whom I hope is from the midwest in this show, because, come on) is supposed to be bad, they should have her eyes dart back and forth all shifty like. that's how you know someone is supposed to be evil.

one thing about south park is while they have a lot of seasons, they're much smaller than the simpsons. SP has aired 269 episodes, the simpsons are 3 away from their 600th(!)

and now arnold palmer's dead. far be it for me to place blame, but it lays squarely on you, the viewer!

it could be argued that with (show) tim's comments on their poor sex life, his obsession with making machines and tools more powerful was just overcompensating for impotence.

post dead revolution sounds pretty interesting. if they try it, they better win, last guy who tried was kept on in the organization, but forced to run the Bad place.

two more things and they've probably been mentioned in a previous thread, but was this how they looked when they died and did they have kids? Everyone seems pretty sanguine about their family being gone although that could just be memories erased, denial or this being a community of single childless people who died

my one thing with Chidi this episode was how his whole explanation of ethics, ie people are good for doing good things, ignores the obvious flaw. doing good things for the wrong reasons. especially when tahani would be the textbook example of that. all charity is a little selfish, but if that's the sole motivation

this show kind of reminds me of last man on earth. it's about a jerk trying to be a better person against their wishes, with a small ensemble, in a world that is cut off from other societies (more or less) and there's no main plot to worry about (aside from michael finding out, which is one of the big deviations).

from what we've seen so far, none of them seem to have been married or if so, they didn't like the person that much. Maybe that's a clue.

maybe it's a good attracts good bad attracts bad kind of thing? If not that, then maybe they mean closest soul mate of who is available, but they never mention that part since it kills the mystique.

i'll bet it turns out they were on an island the whole time.

they should have turned his book into a tv show. something about that name screams "game show helmed by JD salinger"
