RIP James. I always thought that the show missed an opportunity to give Gunther a bottle episode. Something that follows him as he gets off work and then reveals that he’s an MI6 operative or a base jumper or a driver on the F1 circuit. Something like that.

So it wasn’t merely an accident, it was the culmination of a long sequence of negligence and fuckery resulting from shitty management. Two prior misfires shows a clear pattern of negligence, as does crew members walking off in protest over their repeated safety concerns being ignored. I dunno how the labour laws will…

nah if the gun’s misfired three times in the last couple days just plow ahead with the scab crew and point that gun where you please. it’s your money on the line, after all!

Chappelle makes jokes I don’t always agree with.

I didn’t notice any wooden stakes at all. It looked like bottle rockets to me. The Gizmodo recapper said the same, and didn’t mention any stakes. Weird.

I too endorse Hap & Leonard. It streams on Netflix.

He was great in everything. I really loved him in the adaptations of Joe R. Lansdale’s Hap & Leonard stories. This is just wrong and unfair.

I heard the news, and yelled “NO!” This is absolutely heartbreaking. He remains one of my favorite actors ever. So much great work, and decades more that he would have given. 

I would rather the show be good this season.

Nichols didn’t accuse ESPN of only “offering Maria Taylor opportunities” because she’s a black woman, she accused ESPN of taking her job away from her and giving it to Taylor because she’s a black woman.

The nearest grocery store takes as much as $1 in gas for me to drive there and back. I can walk to the Dollar General at the end of the block. It sometimes makes more sense in every respect to walk there and get something I need before the next trip to the grocery store.

Dollar stores are targeting demographics who [.....] don’t make enough to have much choice in where and when they buy their household necessities.
