Well, they didn't react to it. They're not as petty as Bill Cosby.

"Rick and Morty" was originally a parody of Doc Brown and Marty McFly from Back to the Future. Justin Roiland created them in hopes that Universal Studios would send a cease-and-desist letter, because he thought it would be funny if a major movie studio gets angry at something so crude and dumb.

Here's another one. Morty wants to murder his grandma, but Rick is not a pedophile. The pedophile stuff is only on one video (their first one)
Sarah Chalke's delivery of the line "We can hear the beeps!" in the first episode is one of my favorite moments of the show. She is definitely underutilized.
I thought the scene with Summer in lingerie is more gross than dark (it was also pretty funny), but I see what you're getting at. The scene still bothers me, but it did make a really good episode. Like I said, I'm pretty conflicted about it.
Yeah, I guess there's no effective way to implement a trigger warning on a TV show. I think what bothers me was how out of place it felt. Moral Orel had some stuff about rape, but at least by then it's already established how dark the show can get. This felt more like if Futurama suddenly turned into a Lifetime movie.
I like to explore, and I get into stuff. Maybe I can look around, you know, Rudy?
I love the show, and this episode was really good, but I'm pretty conflicted about the bathroom scene. On one hand, it's so graphic and bleak that it will definitely trigger trauma for some people. But on the other hand, the show didn't make light of the situation, and showed that it really was a terrible thing.
It's only the fifth episode, but no, that scene was definitely darker than the show's usual stuff.
How is a network that has Superjail in it a writer's network?
I love how much personality the Zigerians have. Shame they all died at the end.
Yeah, but it has two Larrys. Parks and Rec only has one.
According to interviews, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland wanted the episodes to be self-contained stories, with some continuity nods.
Yeah, but I guess Justin Roiland's not as much of a household name as Dan Harmon.

Man, she should be a voice actor! Oh, wait she is. She plays several characters in Adventure Time.
