What about kids of parents that just really hate each other but are still married?
What about kids of parents that just really hate each other but are still married?
The CNN article didn’t need reporting on. This is not news, people have been told to schedule sex for decades. Without adding anything to the CNN article except “ugh, so unsexy,” what the hell is the point?
I related to the forever-single article so much because I’m going through something similar but I totally agree; this is a weird follow up to such a personal piece. She clearly doesn’t relate to the CNN article but chimed in anyway and it seems unnecessary and a little mean spirited. Why shit on advice that’s just…
That can’t be the play they’re going to make here. If they were going to go in front of the court to make a case why Amber Heard should have be penalized for the PSA she made, they wouldn’t be doing that through making her pay their attorney fees. They’d be attacking the settlement itself.
I was with you until the end. If a white guy appears probably nothing good is going to happen. At least in my, WOC mind. Usually if you are confused and in need of guidance or help and a white guy appears, nothing is about to get better. If you are a white guy, maybe another white guy would be comforting, but really,…
At the begining. I feel there’s some character development later.
That was how God was explained to me by my rabbi. But perhaps I should say “God’s physical presence”. It might be inelegant but the idea is that God is the creator of everything, an omnipotent being.
I’m going to be a bitch and say:
Well now I just want to attend Mardi Gras with Tilda Swinton and Angela Lansbury.
Because having a disease shouldn’t be a crime. If those other guys didn’t want to get HIV, they shouldn’t have been having unprotected sex with random guys they met off the internet (at least not without being on PREP). Laws like these put all the onus of responsible behavior on the person with HIV, discourage testing…
Except...no. Deserving something means that you get what is right and should happen to you. Again, show me where I said that it is right that somebody gets HIV.
30 years is an outrageous sentence. I certainly hope he doesn’t get the maximum next time.
This is a complicated case with more going on than is described in this short article. A lot of it has to do with racism; the accused also reportedly has learning disabilities. And of course, responsibility to prevent disease does not only fall on the infected.
As an active gay man, I’m about as low a risk as you’ll find. I’m on PrEP, (currently) in a monogamous relationship, get tested four times a year, use protection always, and communicate this to every new partner I meet.
Show me where I said that.
I think we can all agree that withholding your HIV status is wrong. But he’s just getting retried, he’s not going free. There was a lot of fuckery in this trial:
When I was pregnant with my 2nd a year ago I was curious about this and looked up the studies myself. Generally the consensus is a whole lot of ‘not sure’ and studies did not look at women who only did a LITTLE (studies usually go with women who toked over a certain amount, much like caffeine-in-pregnancy studies;…
*snicker*
But latkes...
I don’t think there’s a bad guy here either. I think cho’s feelings are valid and I think swinton’s are as well. They’re just coming at it with really different perspectives and experiences.
