While I really want to believe this, I’m not sure the effect isn’t because everyone is going “OMG WOMEN CHARACTERS/DEVELOPERS/ETC WE MUST SUPPORT THEM” and artificially inflating the movies. Yeah I’ve noticed this with kids versions of games. They end up killing what makes the game good by oversimplifying.

I too have gotten A LOT of mileage out of Sushi Go! Party. It is a great gateway game for people who don’t have much experience with new gaming mechanics (like drafting). It is also so dang charming and the multiple sets keeps its fresh and engaging for more experienced players. Cannot recommend enough

I love Sushi Go, but the big complaint I get trying to introduce people to it is, seriously, “but I don’t like sushi!”.
