@jb70115: I always used the lowest brightness setting possible on my laptop for note taking at university. Made a huge difference in battery life.

@xkevin108x: If your monitor is in a very bright room having the brightness up all the way may be necessary, otherwise I doubt a 10% reduction in the brightness is going to make much of a difference.

@iScuba: Okay lets do that.

@ekap: I have to disagree, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. In my life that is a true statement.

@Wilson: I still have my e260. Use it 3 or 4 days a week on the bus and still get 10+ hrs on a charge even after owning it for more years than I can remember.

@Ajanu: This can't be emphasized enough. A line of credit is one of the best options if you have debt, or are trying to pay down debt.

@GreasyPig: Where do you get a student loan at 4.125%?

Funny, I was just looking at my debt scenario yesterday, now this comes up.

If you have any background in C programming I find the PIC is the most versatile. There are a lot of resources available, and tons of cheap dev boards and programmers.

I love having the Canadian dollar almost on par with the US dollar. It made my last cruise much more affordable.

@jalagl: I'm still waiting for the $30 or less price for Uncharted 2. I only buy one or two full priced on release games a year, and I still have a big backlog of cheap games to buy some day.

@GorbyGipper: I was going to post much the same, though I am only 26 with my first on the way.

@WestwoodDenizen: I agree with you. I am actually surprised they were able to make the iPhone look ugly simply by being placed in front of such a garish device.

@Badlands99: Just think of the money you can save on Condoms!

@blehbleh13: There is a reason Apple calls then Notebooks and not 'Laptops'. Apple knows they produce too much heat to allow for safe lap usage.

@swangtal001: To be fair this is only the Terran campaigns. In the original SC the Terran were by far the easiest race to complete the campaigns for.

@Ian Tewksbury: This is the same one my parents had while I was growing up. And it did make the best waffles. Unfortunately it died when I was 16 or so.

I don't understand how switching to one huge monitor is any different from 2 smaller monitors. With a large monitor you can still appropriate the left or right side for distracting windows/applications. My suspicion is that the act of changing how you view your workspace is what made a difference.

@LANjackal: I agree completely. I think the second monitor became a nice to have for any person who works in front of a computer for most of the day. In reality there are relatively few work flows that benefit from two monitors. I too am a software developer and spend half my time in a virtual machine, so two monitors
