Such a weird article. I’m not sure who this is for. Sounds like an Android user who’s jealous of their Apple-using friends. I doubt there’s a massive population of Apple users that are pining for Android just as much as I doubt there’s a massive population of Android users pining for iOS. Once people find what works

Depends on where you live. Usually it’s a pittance.

And clear out your phone.

This is why you shred documents early and often, boys and girls. Once you are served a subpoena, it’s destroying evidence.

Change your plans if bad weather is likely

Are you raising your children to be atheist or agnostic? Atheists are openly hostile towards religion. Agnostics just don’t believe in any god.

Waste to spoil a dog is justified anyway.

It’s taken me a long time to realise the slideshows are opinions  without any supporting evidence.

We’ll blow ~$40k+ on a car that we’ll spend an hour a day in, then sell it for a huge loss 4-5 years later. At the same time we’ll scoff at $2500(?!) for a mattress we’ll spend ~8 hours a day in every day for the next 10 years.

“The same goes for adverbs (think: really, very, actually, quite, literally).”

I tried that once. Turns out that using up over an hour of your day tracking what you do in your day is a gigantic waste of time and provides no benefit whatsoever.

I’m glad I live in a neighborhood and know my neighbors. We created a spreadsheet of pretty much every expensive or specialty tool we own and share it via Google docs. If someone needs a door mortiser or a tie rod remover, we just go to the doc, find the person who has it, and text them.

Everything is offensive to someone. For instance, there are people who take offense at the term “wretch”.

The term “master” does not imply “slave”, and is not exclusively masculine, nor is this usage of the term associated with slavery or masculinity. This is merely the latest instance of doing violence against the English language to guard against an imagined offense, based on false etymology.

I can get behind doing away with “master” as the terminology, but primary sounds too clunky. Why not main? Main bedroom, main bathroom. Sounds much better.

A few decades ago we went from buying cheap computers and having to do that often to buying good computers that, even though they often cost 2-3x the cost they lasted 2-3x longer so it worked out better in the end.

“A calorie is a calorie” - Can we eliminate this phrase as well?

If you are comparing the skin-on potato to regular pasta or white rice, the potato will always be the winner in nutrition and satiety. Switch that to whole-grain pasta or brown rice and it’s a tie. Though the texture of 100% whole-grain pasta will definitely be a loser.

Misery.
