Uh. I think people would FLOCK to the movie if they cast a trans actor. You clearly underestimate the buying power of the LGBTQIA community.

So, that essentially creates a self-fulfilling prophecy. Productions won’t hire minority actors because pretty much all of them aren’t A-list. Minority actors can’t become A-list because A-list productions won’t hire them. Rinse and repeat.
Yeah, yeah, yeah but Ghost in the Shell bombed so while your argument might explain why this is sometimes done it doesn’t explain why Johansson and Sanders are being given more money to burn by miscasting a lead role...again.
Yes! Visually and conceptually, I think Sorry to Bother You will be this decade’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. A film that will be studied in film school, for sure.
“It’s this year’s Get Out!” say people who can only tolerate one prominent black-oriented piece of pop culture per year
I’m really bothered by how much $$$$ contributes to performance and winning now. When Monique brought it up or earlier when Chi Chi talked about it as a disadvantage, everyone acted like those queens were just making excuses.
America, Facts are FACTS and Monique is the true winner of Season 10.
Drag Race is officially over the shark. Aquaria absolutely deserves the win, but the show now longer has its charming ramshackle feel. Nothing is surprising anymore.
If you pick up the receiver, he’ll make you a believer.
When did Jesse join Depeche Mode?
Couldn’t agree more. Dolores has basically been a boring character the whole time. The choice to feature her and Bernard is bizarre.
I guess I’m the only one who thought the writing this season was sub-par. It seems like a schizophrenic wrote the episodes, as half the time, even in my most generous time-schism mode, the writers seemed incoherent and thought it great writing! The last episode was a disjointed mess. I loved several pieces of it,…
I was so angry last night. The last half of this season was so good and it ended on this bullshit. All my friends who watch the show are telling me to calm down but I won’t. They’ve sat up season 3 to be nothing I care about: I don’t want another season of Dolores’ kill everything bullshit while Bernard is like “no…
About midway through this season, I realized, I just don’t care. At first it was the unending and constant violence, so much so that it became de-sensitizing. Then feeling that none of the characters, save Maeve, are redeemable or care worthy. All of them, just awful. Then finally noticing (and I am not sure how I…
Although I appreciate her being very direct about all this stuff, it says something that she needed to do it at all.
I get the strong vibe that this show is like some sort of robot trying to pass a Turing test. It’s attempting (and at times succeeding) to hit all the right notes of a good show. The drama. The characters. The asking interesting questions. The twists. But I can’t help but think that if we could see inside it’s…
I am so disturbed by this that I wrote this email to HFPA: “I am writing to express my dismay that your organization is trying to downplay the sexual assault that took place by Phillip Berk toward Brenden Fraser. I can’t believe in this day and age that people still don’t understand that any unwanted, non-consensual…
Yeah— “It was a joke, I just wanted to draw attention to your big boobs in front of everybody in class” REALLY doesn’t hold any water.
I honestly don’t know how this happened, and not that it changed anything that I noticed, but my middle school “Project Self-Respect” classes were VERY clear that harassment is defined by how the PERSON BEING HARASSED feels about it. The rest was bullshit abstinence only crap, but even a broken clock I guess.
Everything I read about Brendan Fraser just makes me want to wrap him in a blanket and give him a cup of tea. Poor guy.
