This stuff has definitely been called out several times within the last few years, yet it somehow persists. I don’t get it because #mommyneedsadrink isn’t anything new current culture is just normalizing it.
I wish there was. The materials break down over time, making them less safe. Once they’ve expired, you can’t even donate them and the recommendation if you leave them out for garbage pick-up is to cut the straps so someone else doesn’t find it and use it.

I have a 20 month old son. I easily give him undivided attention for 4 or 5 hours a day on the weekends, easily an hour on weekdays. And I treasure it, even when he scratches my face or head-butts me in the nose.
The thing is, if a cyclist breaks the rules, or gets mad, or whatever, and hits your car, you get some damage to your car. If a driver gets mad and hits a cyclist, well, that’s a lot worse.
