Longtime Jez fan, first time poster. I created this account just now because Jackie was a casual friend of mine and I’m the one who sent the story into Jezebel. Just wanted to say thank you so much for using my tip and posting her story. Jackie was a funny, charming, kind young woman and we are trying to get her story

I’m just so THANKFUL we have all of these enlightened white men around so they can inform everyone how to actually make a political statement. We should let them continue to lead the way for civil rights movements.

I mean...come on...they’re kids. They didn’t choose to be actors nor did they write their parts. Let’s give them a break especially since they know how to google? Being an actor is tough and they are giving up their childhood for our entertainment purposes. They’re all awesome little humans that I hope get time to

The Ted Cruz part didn’t happen but the “I finally got tickets to Hamilton but I have to hold my cat the whole time” nightmare did happen. And in the dream the audience got to play on stage A LOT. And I kept having to say, you go on ahead. I have this cat sitting on my lap. I woke up VERY upset.

You’re doing good work here. And I got a laugh out of the Tragically Still Gary comment. Sorry that some still can’t seem to see the forest for the trees.

Perfect case in point. I think Jezebel is a cesspool of a whining echo chamber, and you come up and imply I’m sexist.

I have yet to come across someone that just straight up “hates men” and I’ve been reading/commenting there for over a year. If you’re conflating “men” with “patriarchy,” then maybe you should go read a book.

Ah, now comparing the Jezebels with the misogynists of 4chan. ALSO seems reasonable!

Lol, it used to be “Tragically Heterosexual” in an ode to a line from Parks and Rec (Leslie/Ann)

You called it a “cesspool of a whining [sic] echo chamber” and that they think any opposing opinion is an attack on their person. A little different than just “disagreeing.”

Calling a group of thousands of diverse women “fucking insane” seems reasonable.

What’s funny is that THIS VERY ARTICLE says “What’s important is that people understand that you’re not pushing them back, but rather their position.” I implied your POSITION was sexist. I don’t know you. Jezebel consists of mostly female writers and commenters. Do you see how that can come off as a sexist comment?

Maybe I’m just proving your “point,” but comments about Jezebel like this one come off as extremely sexist. I’ve actually had some of my most thoughtful and engaging conversations with people I disagree with there. If you form an intelligent and coherent opinion, many will be willing to have a civil back and forth
