Oh the poor man! Do you think it's dementia?
I work with pregnant and parenting teens in South Africa. Concealed pregnancy & dumped/abandoned babies is a huge problem. Abortion is 100% legal and free but not always easily accessible due to societal / family judgement. I speak to young girls every day on the verge of killing / dumping their babies because they…
Awww i miss this age. Been roughly 100 years since we were doing this - it's all so exciting. Almost miss it it enough to consider another child... almost... but not.
I get it. It's just asking people to say you "still look fabulous". When we should be talking about something else entirely. But like you say it's not a zero sum game. There's room for both. PLENTY of people are still walking the dog in lipstick because they're afraid of their real faces. They need this. Not cos it's…
My son didn't have guns as a child - although he once turned a toast crust into a gun. Ban the toast!
"Middle class" moms in South Africa face much the same. Don't even try being a teen mom - even less consideration or thought for recovery time. In our teen mom support group work I've come across 16 year olds back at school 2 days after giving birth to write exams - under pressure not to fall behind.
For me, it'd be worse for my child to be the bully. Knowing that I'd screwed up so monumentally would kill me. But parents who raise bullies are generally not concerned about that sort of thing anyway. If you cared about that, you probably wouldn't end up with a bully. Chicken. Egg. Omelette?
I'm sure she handled it in the best way possible, after the fact.
Thinking about the cyberbullying 13 year old. Was discussing this today. If your child is bullying someone online, you don't have an internet problem you have a bully problem. I don't know how children turn into bullies WITHOUT their parent's knowledge. Is it really a surprise to them? Or something that's been…
i've already said too much
Maybe we're *all* robots?
A robot is perhaps a more sensible option anyway. In fact, replace all the humans with metal talkie persons and then my day might improve. http://tracyengelb.kinja.com/if-enough-chil…
Insane. Martin? Really? That lil boy is clearly a Messiah if ever there was one. Martin. Pfft.
Ha! Indeed. Hydration is extra important for us dried-up husks
Or you could do like me and avoid the whole thing by not dating at all. Yay for desiccated spinsterhood!
I don't get it. They were just little boys like 5 minutes ago. How do people get like this?
Awkward / not awkward situation recently when I bought condoms for my son when he was going away for the weekend - am sure he had his own but thought I'd be remiss if I didn't do it as well. 11 year old daughter was with me in the shop - she was horrified. Too much information mom!
I think your point of getting to know the boyfriend / girlfriend is a good one. Safe sex is hugely important, but so is learning about safe and healthy relationships.
I guess you'd have that talk anyway?
