I’d wager most Californians voted it down because they know it will mean either the end of the services or an big increase in prices.

5th gear: “Car- and ride-sharing offerings will help reduce traffic”.

So the argument is that Prop 22 lost because the voters are stupid? They can’t read?

Neutral: Here’s my goal today. Regardless if you support the guy I like or the guy I don’t like,, let’s take down our signs, hang up our flags, and generally stop being jerks to each other.

“Idiots hate Ford for continuing to meet large market demand they excel at”.

And initial cost increase of said vehicle.

1st gear: “At the moment, we do not have any plans to go into heavy duty with battery-electric vehicles,”

1st gear: Ford is the first of the big 2.5 to announce an electric pickup and electric delivery van and yet you find a reason to criticize them anyways?

EV Heavy Duty?

Fuels cost wouldn’t “disappear”, they be shifted to the “electric bill” and the structural costs / overhead of the on-site charging stations and additional space required.

Ford Uninterested in Compromising Usability for Industry Segment that Demands It.

(Irregular FYI: Some of the stories linked to below are behind paywalls. Pay for the news you value!)

Shilling has gone on and on in prior posts about buying the first new sub 20K EV for sale. Tom McParland had an article about how some dealers were stacking rebates and getting the price of one below 20K.

You realize electricity is still fuel, right?

Range anxiety?

Would Jalopnik please get someone who has a grasp on car culture to do the news?

As ever, regulations (and gas prices) are the only true motivators for automakers to change.

1st: This really shouldn’t be a huge surprise. The batteries and motors needed to match current torque figures on HD trucks for any reasonable range would probably make them heavier to the point it would take significant chunks out of the tow rating. And regardless of of how many of the customers use that tow rating,

1st Gear: Smart move on Fords part, they will experiment with Rivian first to see how that goes.
