I think the genre has shifted enough that meta-progression is the norm.

Ugh. Its not a rogue-like if it has meta-progression. Its a rogue-lite.
There, I said it, you can flame me now <3
This is a great comment response. Kudos from a fellow engineer.
I had a conversation with my father-in-law (a medical device salesmen) in July, where he told me that I needed to get with his other son-in-law on some air-quality devices, since demand is up due to the pandemic (we both happen to have experience in engineering air-handling equipment in non-medical industries). I…
Well in Canada and the USA, we have nothing available in volume. Only the odd specialty models from companies like Workhorse.
1st Gear: Coming out with an electric Transit is a great idea given that there are currently zero electric vans produced in volume for sale. Personally I think Tesla should come out with their own van... but that won’t happen until after they get the Cybertruck, Semi and new Roadster into production.
It overall mirrors the large movements of the market. You could probably swap in the S&P500 and get the same picture.
Totally agree. Also, railroads s make this autonomous thing pretty easy.
at this point it’s amazing it TOOK a pandemic for this to happen.
they can be recharged while unload/loading operations.
First: Ford’s got this one nailed. “Local delivery” is a perfect application for eVans, so they should excel here. Maybe this makes up for the silly E-Mustang thing?
That their link to the “Today in History” feature still works on days when they don’t have something automotive to plug into that portion, and that’s the quickest glib joke the headline writer could come up with?
EPA certification usually happens towards the end of a launch if I remember correctly. I worked on the launch of the diesel F150 and we didn’t hear of the EPA cert the entire time I was there (I got moved to a different area right before the cars became saleable). There are usually a few hundred cars built up during…
Even the new ones didn’t sell well comparatively, and those segments are shrinking no matter who is doing well in them.
I doubt they sold a million DCTs. And of those, most were fine.
R: A rare point of agreement.
“Even when GM wins, they try to lose. It’s unfathomable and inexplicably irritating, even though it’s so predictable.”
Up till a couple of years ago I worked on the camera for this driver monitoring system. It’s clever but was frustrating because what it’s trying to do is engineer a solution to a particular flavor of human stupidity.
They ranked it higher solely because they felt it keeps track of the driver better but it’s ranked worse in both performance and far worse in ease of use. In the real world you can only use Super Cruise on specific supported highways and in places like New York the law forbids Super Cruise from being used entirely. GM…
Well this is an absurd thought that just ran through my head. Is it unnecessarily cold for a next of kin to offer to help pay for a nicer car knowing it’s going to be theirs someday? I mean, it’s a bit dark, but if that’s the difference between the elders getting to enjoy a nicer car or not then why not?
