But because of the lack of upsets this year, the Cavaliers were able to prepare against known teams"

Hard work and dedication. And forgetting my medication

how the hell do you come up with this shit

This is so much better an article than the tired, tired takes of “Virginia basketball is boring, except when it’s not.”

Sent via my Samsung Galaxy S9+, an AT&T 5G Evolution smartphone at VCU”

Nice, an article about UVA that doesn’t shit on its play style! Thanks Barry!

Classic VCU fan...

“ The Cavaliers stuck to their plan, even if it hamstrung them last year and ended in humiliation. “ Terrible terrible take.

To be fair, Maryland’s most defining characteristic is putting so much over-hyped spice blend on their food that it glows in the dark.

It’s a little hard to imagine how this game was considered “boring,” like in an alternate universe where everyone who watched it hadn’t heard the same tired UVA take a thousand times.

So this is a legit question — it would be more “aesthetically pleasing” to you if they hedged/closed out more lazily and gave up more open shots defensively and/or jacked up more contested shots early in the shot clock offensively?

The Cavaliers stuck to their plan, even if it hamstrung them last year and ended in humiliation. They made sure it wouldn’t happen again.

This wasn’t a low-scoring game at all, even considering where it was at the end of regulation. Just a few years ago UConn beat Butler 53-41 in the title game.

It’s snarky, ignorant nonsense like this that gives bloggers a bad name. I’m a Maryland alum, FFS, and even I find this offensive. The “helpful” call was a correct foul call. As for the missed call on the double-dribble, to quote Auburn coach Bruce Pearl: “Get over it.” Grow up, man. This is embarrassing stuff.

I just think that “ugly” carries a different connotation than “slow” or even “sludgy.”

Because Deadspin’s official stance on Virginia has always been above them, standing on their neck, with bowels ready to blow

This take is so tired and lazy.

One person’s “ugly” is just another person’s “slow.” UVA was extremely efficient on offense tonight. Texas Tech had, by KenPom anyway, one of the best defenses of all time. And UVA absolutely crushed them from an efficiency perspective (shooting 47% from the field, 47% from 3 on 24 attempts and 87% from FT). But sure,

WTF? It doesn’t matter if the dude made a “second movement” after UVA smacked it - refs decided that the replay showed it grazed his finger tips before going out of bounds.  And by the way, UVA would go on to score another 10 points in OT.  Not to mention that another close out of bounds call went TT way at the end of
