I’ve driven an Envoy, and it was terrible. I own a Discovery II, which can’t handle for shit. I find it astonishing that the Envoy (something from the 00's) handled worse than a solid axle’d Discovery which roots trace back to the late 80's/early 90's.

In coupe form, absolutely. This is a phenomenal looking car, as a coupe. We bought one pretty much just to look at it (and, the coupes with manuals are exceedingly rare, in M-form or not).

The original HMMWV was designed to operate in already-secured spaces where the threat of large caliber weapons, RPGs, and IEDs were never involved. They were to be used to move men and materials rapidly between outposts, not engage in direct combat. They were designed for areas liberated by NATO from the Soviets.
