The rear carpets look like they were recently in 2" of water. The interior looks to be about the worst part. As long as there’s no water or mold, sure why not. NP.

He tried to murder a bunch of people who went to see a Grateful Dead tribute band with a suicide bomb. The authorities may call it a mental health thing, but it’s terrorism. They should not avoid calling things domestic terrorism when they clearly are.
That Toyota is smayshed. I wonder how hard that stainless is to work with the tools made for working mild steel and aluminum. Hammering and pulling a dent in 1/16" 301 alloy creates more martensite in the deformation zones. That’s going to take a lot of work to fix because it will be like trying to deform a spring. I…
I’ve used SIXT a few times in the past. The service is great, but you’re better off with a Mustang from Hertz.
Mason’s Hotrods and Hobbies seems to know what they’re doing. They do restore a lot of Mustangs. I think they have a hobby shop full of die-cast cars and other collectibles up front. I don’t see the point of this car. If you did that much repair on the body, it would cost a fortune. I guess they calculated it’d be…
Dang! That’s spensive! The new fancy one says $6 on the sign, but that’s the basic wash + free vacuum without any add-ons. I’m going to wash the truck to day because I’m bored, so I’ll see how it adds up with options.
Seems like something that will be in the shop ALL the time. And not cheaply either. ND.
You would paint a used Toyota just to change the color? From something rare like Sand Yellow? .. there’s always plasti-dip..
Freemantle to Sydney the southern route? I think of that 40th south parallel as having pretty constant winds and heavy seas. It sounds like Jones is a pretty bad radio operator. The seas down around 40 degrees South are nothing to play with. Even with a 75 foot steel exploring yacht you need a lot of experience before…
I like using the old car wash where you drive into a bay and it’s just a pressure washer, a foaming suds brush and a drain. It takes infinitely more labor, doesn’t really do that good of a job and doesn’t apply multiple coats of wax and air dry your vehicle to a perfect spotless shine.
I haven’t got that far yet :) put it aside for a while. Maybe I’ll finish it in the next decade. It’s Neal Stephenson, so I’ll give him a lot of leeway for imaginative tech.
I agree, matching relative velocity takes time and little nudges and adjustments. Try driving a car past a spinning merry-go-round, jump out at just the right moment and grab on. The formula for getting it right is not so complicated as rocket science goes, but even with recalculating the solution a million times per…
As a risky Hail Mary with few other feasible options, it did sound barely feasible.
You can’t take away their overtime because the captain would have nothing to threaten them with. Overtime is like a bonus for staying out of trouble.
I got one word for you: “New York”
The horn on my truck sounds like a freight train horn. It’s just the stock horn that came with the F150. If I hit the lock button too many times it honks at me and I’m shocked at how loud it is. So I do not honk except to just fist bump the airbag a little if needed. It would be a neat feature to have a little volume…
I’d tend to agree that recon missions painted as Red Cross are fair game. Shoot it down and ask questions later.
Wisconsin is proud of it’s drinking ‘culture’ . They have the most lax DUI rules in the country. The first DUI is just a ticket. In Illinois for example, the ignition interlock device is required for anyone that gets permission to drive at all after a DUI on a restricted driving permit (RDP). You also get to pay for…
