New Imperial Teen today for the first time in a long time.  Pretty happy about that.

Right?!?  It’s genuinely disturbing.  But, you know, in a good way.

All worthy choices.  One that I would have added:  Little Bird.  It’s not quite wrapped up yet, so I suppose there’s a chance it could end badly, but thus far it’s one of the most memorable books I’ve come across in quite some time.

That’s awesome to hear.  It’s always nice when artists you admire turn out to be admirable for reasons beyond the music.

When I first moved to Brooklyn, I lived in a (terrible) apartment pretty close to the Dap-Tone house/studio, and I wish I hadn’t been too chicken to just knock on the door some day and tell them how much I appreciated their work.

New Budos Band this week, which I’m pretty psyched about.  With the passing of Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley, Budos Band is the biggest name left standing at Dap-Tone, so I hope they can sell well enough to keep the house lights on.

Right?  I think it gets a little bit lost in the shuffle because it was the last stand-alone before the Avengers came along and proved it could work, and because Winter Solider is so good, but - people shouldn’t sleep on The First Avenger.  Better than average bad guys, too.
