All armoured BMWs are finalized here at a plant near Toluca.

You know that VW isn’t the only manufacturer here, right? Did you know all armoured BMWs have been finished here for years?

Other than - maybe - air travel, I am pretty sure you would spend less overall in Mexico given current exchange rates. Also, IMO, while I love Austin and it’s a great place, Mexico City is a much more interesting place to visit.

I’ve owned the E46 & E90 and have driven all the generations of M3, including the legendary E30.

The newer M3s are if anything, more fun at and over the limit than the old ones. But yes, they demand skill not to end in a wall.

This Lexus is comparable to a 550i M Sport or an S6. Nowhere near M5/RS6 levels of performance. Nice, though.

I had the same experience when I got my E46 M3 back in ‘05. So much so that I bought it back last year from the friend I had sold it to.

These cars I’ve owned in order of their acquisition by me:

Audi: The company that brings you the most electric concepts while simultaneously building no real electric cars.

It looks exactly the same as the previous one man! Or as the XE!

How does the interior and trunk space compare to others in the class, especially the 5er?

Let alone the current 5 series. My E60 M5 has most of the things. And it’s 7 years old. Also, and it’s incredible that I can say this: it might be more RELIABLE than the Maser.

Enduro! Night time driving yey.

My car:

CarMax doesn't exist here in the third world and I still bought a used E60 M5 with 29K miles for 32K. I just budgeted $10K extra for repairs which fortunately haven't been needed.....yet.

How far behind Miata?

You're absolutely right. I bought my current E60 M5 from my business partner, knowing its full service history (including recent clutch and alternator replacement at his expense). It's fantastic.....so far.

911. Pretty good. Was expecting M3/M4 but not bad.

This. I own an E46 M3, later got an E90 M3 (recently sold), and then this. It's the most fun of the three. Only things lacking are the noise and a tiny bit of throttle response. But it's more fun to drive than either of the M3s.

I think we got more than four down here. Not many, but more than that. And of the ones we got I've seen at least 3 at track days here. I once was driving a friend's 135i on the local former (and soon to be rejuvenated) F1 track and the RS definitely walked us around turns. On the straights it was pretty even.
