I know you had to play it in 2D mode because of recording purpose. But is it any way different if you play it in 3D mode? I remember Mr. Miyamoto mentioning how having 3D view changes ability to play his upcoming Mario game.

But if the goal is to enjoy Ds titles, I recommend DSi XL over 3DS. Graphic ismmore crisp and much morempleasant to play DS games on it. Not to mention longer battery life.
