Voters, especially Black voters, have been standing in long lines to vote longer than Gen Z’ers have been alive.
You know, “Biden and everyone in the DNC need to constantly denounce every instance of Bro-like behavior, just as they demanded that Sanders do? Even though he didn’t? But they wanted him to, so they need to hold themselves up to a standard that Bernie refused?”
They actually do refute your “actual lived experience” because the lived experience of a single person is by definition anecdotal and does not necessarily reflect broader public opinion. Nor did the vile invective people like Rush Limbaugh spewed at her necessarily reflect broader public opinion. Nor does my mother’s…
I mean, Bernie called on states to postpone the primaries.
Counterpoint: in general, we need to move away from the idea that every last policy needs to be means-tested, and granted only to “the deserving”, because “the deserving” is how they get us every single time.
In this particular primary, primary voters seem to be voting based on their perception of electability in the general election, not based on how much they like the candidate or their policies. That perception of electability doesn’t necessarily mean anything, and in the general election, no one is withholding their…
Do you think spring breakers get to vote in a State’s election because they happen to be there?
The primaries would still go on if Bernie dropped out. The presidential nomination is not the only thing on the ballot.
Bernie supporters don’t owe anything to Biden! We will be in the streets and at the convention floor, just know that ;). Establishment Democrats are so delusional to think Bernie supporters are just going to vote for Biden in November just because “Bernie tells us to”. Frankly my dear, this is exactly what…
There is something to be gained; Biden can listen to Bernie and find ways to address his concerns to draw support from Bernie’s base.
Civility is the MOST important thing. Your country can be destablizing entire continents, but as long as you’re polite, it’s alright :)
And yet, he’s the candidate we have, regardless of what we want. And unlike beef, you can’t just wrap Joe Biden up in cellophane and stick him in a freezer in hopes that you can defrost him come October. Biden is supposed to beat Donald Trump. And Donald Trump isn’t going to go easy on Joe.
What about joe promising the youngs 2 years of free community college?
How DARE someone run in an election! That psycho! How dare someone criticize the democratic party, they’re the greatest party ever! They only suck Republicans dicks half the time and bomb country slightly less than they do.
How does another debate in March hurt the party in November? Particularly since these are the type of questions that matter to the voters Biden most needs to pull in November (hint, that’s not going to be the same voters he is currently winning in the primary.)
It’s March. The 2008 primary stretched quite a bit longer (as did the 2016 Republican primary). If Biden’s candidacy would really be that damaged by a long-shot Sanders remaining in the race for a couple of months longer, then his “electability” argument is pretty weak on its face.
Probably not, but shouldn’t the presumptive nominee answer these questions?
The math? Neither candidate is even half way to the required numbers. The majority of the country has yet to vote.
