Reading this analysis, and all I could think about is what unites Americans, and it’s most likely our own collective stupidity.

“I think the fault lies with Sanders, because he’s largely failed to expand beyond his core supporters.”
Warren’s campaign finance “plan” on her site is still all “No PAC money!” so... yes to the questionable instincts.
and at least give me some hope that a Biden presidency would at least -try- to get some useful policy passed.
There’s actually a worse possibility: it’s Bernie who gets the plurality, but Biden who gets the nod.
Specifically, it’s going to be a plurality for Bernie Sanders, and these behind-the-scenes shenanigans will be used as additional justification to choose Biden anyway, who will then go on to lose to Trump, who will destroy human civilization in his second or third term. Oh well.
Yes, we’ll see on Super Tuesday. However, in my state, California, which, last I checked, has the most diverse population on top of being the most populous, Sanders has a commanding lead in polling at almost twice that of his nearest competitor, Joe Biden. I think it’s fair to say that his following is diverse, deep,…
you seem upset?
“Rather than align herself with Hillary, Kamala, Kristen and Amy”
This is very true. I’m exasperated to no end with fellow Bernie supporters who keep blathering about how the election was “rigged”. Like, yes, the DNC put its thumb on the scale in both tangible and intangible ways, but Bernie still lost and was always going to lose. It doesn’t take away from the strength of the…
You shouldn’t! There’s no point in beating Trump if this is the way to do it, (and newsflash, he’s not going to beat Trump anyway!)
Uh, JRH’s response to you was actually pretty well-founded. The notion of “paying for” any government action through direct accounting with specific taxes is in itself a disingenuous ploy that is only expected of social programs. We never ask “how are we going to pay for wars” or “how can the Pentagon just magically…
This line is repeated ad nauseum by anyone that doesn’t like Bernie... HE HAS RELEASED FIGURES, HE HAS RELEASED THE PLANS, HE HAS TALKED AT LENGTH WHAT WE CURRENTLY PAY VS WHAT IT WILL COST IN TAXES - MOST OF WHICH IS CARRIED BY THE TAXES ON THE TOP EARNERS AND NOT ON THE BOTTOM 50-99% OF CITIZENS... The reality of…
Good thing Warren is the only one whose record is clean on issues affecting marginalized people. Oh wait:
I’m going to be perfectly honest here; I’m not deeply invested in figuring out how we pay for it, nor in having an itemized plan in place.
Agreed in full. One of these people is a multi-billionaire who can be counted to veto anything that might harm his pocketbook.
He literally funds Republican campaigns! He is a Republican! The differences between him and Trump are aesthetic, not ideological, and it’s insane that anyone is pretending otherwise.
Yes, the man who destroyed so many lives through stop and frisk and racist policing — who actually lamented that police stopped too many white people and not enough Black — is on record denigrating LGBT people, whose funding is one of the major reasons Kavanaugh is on the SC, who wanted to create a database…
Let’s be honest here, the only reason why Bloomberg is now a viable candidate is because the media loves the fact that he is on track to spend a billion dollars on ads. These companies normally make the most profit during the presidential primary and general election season. Bloomberg is single handedly doubling — or…
