I hate to use a Trump meme, but this is a perfect example of “Sounds good. Doesn’t work.” I would think using take-out options would be a much better option for small resuarants.

And even if the restaurant did get the gift card money now, wouldn’t this just be delaying the “slump”? Sure, the restaurant would be getting money now (through gift cards) when they have no customers, but then in two months, when everyone redeems those gift cards, then the restaurant is working for “free” at that…

this seems to be the challenge for any technical career.  they complain about a lack of promotions and career ladder, but then they don’t want to be management/lead/leadership.  if you are technically based, there really is no where to go up if you don’t want to manage/lead.

Yep, reports here are that people are buying 30 count boxes of masks and selling each mask for the price of the box.

I heard mask only help prevent people from spreading the virus. They don’t help prevent people from contracting it. 

I suspect it’ll be a while just because that one doesn’t have a lot of variety in the melody to act as an instant attract, so they’ll need actual audio. Or better yet, the ice cream truck driver could just sing it over the loudspeaker.

I don’t know about mask shortages, but my cousin lives in Paris and texted me recently that hand sanitizer is nowhere to be found in stores, and that she saw a tiny bottle going for €45 on Ebay.

That 100% is overkill. For cases like this, masks on sick people help stop the spread when they cough/sneeze, but masks on well people won’t do anything. CDC and public health is strongly urging ordinary citizens to not use masks unless sick to prevent shortages.

Our clinical staff had to wear pediatric mickey mouse masks for a week because McKesson was backordered on the adult ones. During peak respiratory/flu season. So while I feel for all public facing workers, priorities my dudes.

They have these in Korea. I lived there for a year and they were my favorite snack. You can get them here but they’re usually pretty expensive.
