While it may be longer (if you mean the span from end of line to the person who checks your ID/pass), it still usually is shorter in total duration since (at least at my local airport and the ones I travel to) you have a shorter span from the check to the metal detector, which also is faster than the body scans.

I suspect, looking at the various info, the wait would remain the same/longer for standard and the value of precheck/global entry would remain since they would still be the less invasive tools. Got to keep that path open so they can keep their numbers up for background check staff and such.

It also was framed within patriotism so anyone who didn’t stand with the government suddenly was a “buttfucking traitor”. Using the fear and a standard of there not being another large scale attack became the metric of success when the reality was intelligence fields the real work. If they are being apprehended at the

I would imagine things smaller than formal races are not going to be the same level of noise.

Sorry, I was saying about the race track, since it has a limited number of users and is often tied to a season of some sort.

Fascinating, it’s one of those things where I guess you need a really high concentration of old country peeps. Usually the most they are able to go for out here would be deli/processed meats. So I can go to the German, Italian, etc. place for stuff.

Gender neutral bathrooms on transport... wait until they fly on an airplane.

I suspect part of it is the younger generations merging into the boomer area being raised that they were white straight men and therefore would always be masters of the country. Now, they are finding out that there are people better than them at things, people trying to update things, or just making the playing field

It’s a useful term, first it lets you know when something potentially acts with awareness of others/empathy and second that you know whomever is throwing the term around is a terrible person.

Until you said it just now, I had never really thought of the concept of an “Irish Butcher”. Is there such a thing in the US? I have seen Asian and Mexican butchers here but I am not sure there are any european ones since the cuts are often very similar.

They are, ever since he got in as president he went and installed his own people in all the critical roles (one of his rare smart moves) to ensure that he was able to enrich himself while also punishing his enemies. But as it was a self-serving act, that also meant there was no strategic plan so everyone is broke and

Since it is musk we are talking about and his views align, while he won’t be donating, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him loan, provide services, and other transactional things of a questionably legal nature.

It is over increased activity, so their argument is a little different than being surprised noise was there. Though it really depends on how much more is going on. If they are adding in night races every week then I would probably be pissed too.

Fun fact, SoCal also brought dates back to the middle east. When Saddam rose to power, one of the things he did was to wreck the Kurds by cutting water off to their date farms. Doing this wrecked their trees/industry. When he was overthrown, as a diplomatic mission, the US started cloning out the surviving trees

Ah, then if that’s the case it was more expensive of an item than originally touted. They needed a specific meat for it which only was used in one other thing and suddenly became more expensive than just adding tortillas.

Theoretically, lets say they all went the way of taco bell but remove the order lane. You could still do walk in though. Would that keep you or would it still be a no-go? I suspect when they eventually make the transition it’s going to be a beastly few years as people find out they can’t order in line.

I suspect that it will eventually be the norm for it to go app only in the future with some accommodations built in for locations which are in areas which require cash be taken. See: Amazon’s stores (in early days) and how terrible that experience is for people who didn’t want to use the app/scanning.

You don’t even need to go that far, you can just look at Corner Bakery and other similar places who use the same model. Likewise bagel places.

They are, and that is how they are able to fund development/maint of the systems but when they target low wage jobs the returns are difficult.

I’m not sure, part of it does require it learns so it isn’t going to be stuck with a small pool for all eternity. Arguably, a human may be at a disadvantage in the same situation, such as a person who lived in SoCal their entire life getting dropped into a fast food location in the deep south with heavy accents. If
