There’s a reason that despite BMW being one of my favourite automotive marques I don’t drive one. Maybe one day I’ll be able to stomach $10k repair bills, but today is not that day.

My dad owned one of these for a short time and I got a fair amount of time behind the wheel when he had it. They are very comfortable, but his was plagued with issues so he ended up getting rid of it early.
I thought the same thing. Despite how enormous this vehicle is, you still end up with a cramped looking bench seat without an armrest or any recline, so its not even like you can justify the size and hideous styling with an argument about comfort. Why would anyone want this?
People’s reactions to climate change feel a lot like people’s reactions to COVID-19 in a way.
As much as I disliked Episode I, podracing was and still is cool. It and Maul were probably the only good things to come out of that movie. I think it is technically illegal in the Star Wars era that the Mandalorian is set in, so it would likely only exist underground. But with at least one show being set before the…
This is exactly why I think all these companies who claims that ride sharing AV’s will revolutionise transportation are full of it. Reason one being people like having private cars, despite how impractical and costly it may be and will not be that quick to give them up. Even non-car people like having their own…
This is exactly what infuriates me beyond measure, as it is actively fucking with my own family and with the entire world, frankly. One of my family members has been totally brainwashed by the cult of Trump, and if their stupid fucking moron prophet would just have the basic decency to state the scientific facts about…
I genuinely do not understand how Uber is not profitable. They’re essentially just a service that connects two people and takes a cut. They should be enormously profitable. Cab companies make money while 1) having full time employees 2) owning and maintaining large fleets of vehicles 3) owning and maintaining dispatch…
That’s a great looking car
Not to mention lowering the price of EV’s. The cheapest BEV I can buy in Canada starts at over $44000, which is entry level luxury car territory for a Nissan Leaf with a small battery. That’s well over double what you can get a gas powered car for. That is just way too expensive for most people, especially if you’re a…
Yes, though somehow even greasier and more immoral. It’s one of the many reasons I’m leaving this shit industry.
With this group, a lot of ass kissing of upper management and a willingness to put short-term company profits above morals/staff/long-term sustainability. There’s a strong streak of bro-ish nepotism in the company I’m with.
From the perspective of someone who has worked in dealerships, I generally agree with the list, but like you said, it really depends on the dealer itself and who is in charge. The place I am at used to be reasonably okay by most standards, but we recently got a new boss who has turned us into a nightmare store. No…
Yes. Some people will outright ID it as the CVT, but for others it’s always complaints about how it shifted, the noise (of the engine), complaints of how it drove weird, felt weird, etc. The things they’re complaining about are usually the result of the CVT, which tends to accentuate the very worst parts of the…
Nailed it. This is why they don’t sell
It’s not though. I sell cars. Customers HATE the CVT in these. They’re not sure WHY they hate it, but they just know that they do. No, it obviously doesn’t need a manual or anything, but it needs a conventional auto.
This thing is going to flop even harder than the QX50 has. What a disappointment. At the dealer level we had heard rumours that this thing would have more power or a different transmission but that obviously isn’t true. It doesn’t solve either of the QX50's main problems, which are the CVT and thrashy engine and the…
I always thought I would be really excited about a V8 Wrangler, but I’m just...kinda not? I think just because it’s going to probably cost like $100k in Canada, will likely drive kinda shitty, and be bought by the biggest meatheads where I live who will all end up giving them 6 inch lifts and wrapping them around…
I feel like it’s some sort of invincibility complex that develops with bigger or higher vehicles. I notice the same thing with a lot of full size SUVs and trucks, especially come winter time. Because they’re big and have 4X4 people seem to think they can drive them like absolute morons because they’re “safe”, ignoring…
I’m not saying the RAV4 is the only one people should buy, just that it is way better than the Rogue. The problem with the Rogue and Nissan in general is that the only reason they sell any of them is because of a) big, huge manufacture incentives and b) more features for the $. You can get more options for the same…
