Very true!

My problem with cars like the Mirage and the offered in Canada Nissan Micra is that they’re just bad value when you consider you can get into something way, way better, like a Civic, for not much more money, and have a car that is way better built, more refined, better resale, and has double the horsepower for few

In fairness, this is pretty typical for an all new product though. Once they’re on lots for a year or so I’m sure they’ll start to throw lower rate finance options at it, but Ford is likely aware the first 6 months of “gotta have it” buyers won’t give a shit about a higher rate.

Corolla Cross, CH-R, Rav4, and Venza. That is a lot of smallish CUV’s.

The dealership I work for in Canada has been fraudulently doctoring the books to claim the federal governments 75% wage subsidy while at the same time slashing everyones pay and adding increasingly legally dubious conditions and charges into sales agreements for customers. I can’t wait to be gone from this garbage

Same thing here in Canada. I’m a fairly regular mountain bike rider in the summer, and normally the trails are manageable, but since the pandemic hit it’s like a freeway at peak rush hour, just jammed with people all the time.

It’s wild to me that shareholders are yearning for the return of Ghosn when he is the guy who put Nissan in this shit position in the first place. Never updating product, half-assing everything, and ceaselessly chasing volume over everything is what has screwed Nissan.

The Journey was awful, and I won’t mourn its death, but it’s wild to me that FCA now only makes one 7-seat SUV (Durango) across all of its brands now as far as I can remember. I know Jeep has one forthcoming, but it is insane to me that they don’t have more than that given how popular they are and the number of brands

Hear hear! Fuck this stupid idea.

Resale value is what I thought of too. It makes basically every car a base model come resale time. Oh you paid an extra 20k for all the fancy features? Too bad, now it’s the same as a rental spec. While I know most BMW drivers lease, this could potentially annihilate the residual value, which would in turn make their

I saw that one. Was flabbergasted when I saw how cheap it went. That’s a lot of car for $83k

Auto dealers have also used the pandemic as an opportunity to gut pay. Management, parts, sales, service, everyone at my store have taken huge and permanent pay cuts, and unsurprisingly like half the store is now looking for other jobs.

Super Duty still uses a column shifter, and lower trim level F-150's do too, something I expect would continue with the 2021. I don’t know why they are insisting on using the more complicated folding console shifter. A column shifter is just a way better design for a pickup and frees up lots of extra storage space.

I honestly think people won’t be that opposed to an electric F-150 IF it is well executed. A lot of people were wary that truck buyers would not pay a premium for a turbocharged V6 over a V8, but they did once they saw how it performed. Ditto the aluminium body on the recent F-150's. Trucks are ultimately a dick

You’re right, it’s just surprising they hadn’t yard sale’d the entire corporate suite well before the fuel economy scandal and Nissan’s subsequent purchase due to their terrible results.

It’s always kind of amazing to me that the entire senior management of companies like this aren’t ousted. Like, you allowed sales volumes to decline so enormously in the worlds biggest markets that you’re now considering pulling out of them because...you basically just stopped trying or building anything new? Truly

100%. I worked at a VW dealership and every “bulletproof, never had a problem with it” claimer always had a massive list of repairs they conveniently omitted. I remember one guy with a City Jetta that was bragging about how he’d never had a problem in the 47k kilometres he had on his...except the like 10 grand in

Yes, though it does cost several thousand dollars to do so. People have a weird affinity for the Ford 7.3's much like they do the Cummins 12 valves.

I’ve long said that if my girlfriend and I accidentally got pregnant with triplets or something I would get a van over a three row crossover in a heartbeat. They’re just so much more practical and user friendly, and in my mind are no less exciting than your average three row crossover. It’s not like anyone looks at a

I watched one of his Netflix specials a couple months back for the first time too, and it was legitimately the least funny comedy special I’ve ever seen in my life. Genuinely hard to sit through. Guy is like Dane Cook with no charm and even less talent
