A fix/improvements for Google Voice!

Date day with the wife just added an agenda item. Good looks, Giz.

I feel like this will be the start of the death of Google Voice.

Excellent! Thank you! I really appreciate you documenting this. I've gotten certain pieces of this working but never the whole process end-to-end like you've got going. I particularly like that your process has a 200 MB file with no commercials.

Could you do me a favor? Could you write up a little about what software you use, your hardware, the process, and your resulting file? Would love to imitate what you have working.

Go to Rick Steve's site. Download his free audio walking tours. Bring earbuds for everyone.

What about movies that I've downloaded and compressed to fit on my S3? Sometimes I'll start watching the movie only to realize that I need subtitles, but it's too late.

Actually, this may be a moot point, b/c reading subtitles on my phone doesn't sound fun at all.

I watch media on my HTPC, classic xbox, WDTV Live Hub, and Android phone (while on the train with no signal). I want .avi files or .mp4 files that I can watch anywhere. Give me that, and I'll gladly pay.

I could never get the commercials stripping to work correctly, and I personally hated how Windows Media Center wouldn't give me DRM-Free .avi or .mp4 files.

Just use iSyncr. It syncs with iTunes beautifully, and if you use Rocket Player as a player on your Android device, will transfer play counts from your device to iTunes.

I'm worried about Google Voice.

Agreed. I have to say though, I'm so annoyed by the inability to receive group messages from iPhones that it's almost not worth using Voice anymore.

I'm pretty sure my WDTV LiveHub 1TB does this with no problem. I have an SMB share, it streams it.

We need an XBMC plug-in that accomplishes the same thing :)

I wish. Asking people to switch from a standard just for me? I don't have that kind of pull with EVERYONE I know.

that's not a bad idea, but it's more when people send me messages, not me sending them out.

That only happens with (some) Sprint users who send me messages.

I've been using Google Voice for about 18 months, but lately I'm running into situations where I didn't get a text message that everyone else got - because the sender used an iPhone and sent a mass text, which went out as an MMS. So everyone else knows what's going on but me. This, combined with the fact that I never

And Parks and Recreation!

I just started using PodKicker, which is free and syncs with Google Reader. I miss Google listen, becuase, even thought it was terrible, it was very easy to sync up.
