I'm glad they posted this so I know that this part that was thought to be an NFC chip is really something more basic. It's news, not clutter. Everyone thought this might be an NFC chip and now we know it's most likely not.

Don't think so. Pretty sure the 4S is still champ here.
I had that issue too. Complete wipe and/or reset network settings clears this up.
Yes, you can.
Wow. See, this is just another example of why not to help someone these days is the acceptable thing to do. Next time your friends sees an iPhone in the street, maybe he just keeps on walking (or decides to keep it). Total bullshit man.
They almost have so far. Just missing a few parts & the actual OS loading portions.
Batter life is important!
That's actually kind of funny.
Yes, the unveiling, the keynote, etc will be on September 12th. Coming is a loose way of saying announced - rather than coming out which loosely means 'available'. But it's a moot point anyway because if you're here you most likely know Apple starts selling the iPhone a little while after it's announced.
How is this misleading? It will be announced on the 12th. It doesn't say coming out on September 12.
If you're looking to get a smartphone, just pick up the iPhone 5 when it comes out - especially if you can get a good deal. Typically there aren't any major bugs. The last real significant issue was hardware related (the antenna on the iPhone 4 in 2010).
That's a really good point.
The Next Web is quite reputable.
But they released this info yesterday, which means they're still around, hence the 'or so they (and we) thought'.
Why not just do Jalopnik Gold today instead?
What's the point of making new stuff if another company is just going to ape all of it's features and undersell you? It's like creating something only to have it stolen.
Good catch.
What's wrong with the reporting? It's accurate. It just states that the process takes place during birth.
Good point.
That is a big mistake. JOCO seems like it would be the prime area to do this. They would have met the quota in a week.
