Q: What’s the fastest car in the world?

God I miss NY. Spent most of my adult life there. Now I live in a place where even on a glorious day in non-pandemic times, people will barely acknowledge your presence. In NYC yeah you might get yelled at, or you might make a new friend! At least you know where you stand with people. 

Was there ever another outcome to this story? I watched a few of them, mostly treacle, vanilla, heart-tugging bits about blah blah blah humanity. The total cynic in me thinks it was always a bid for something like this or a hosting gig of some sort.

As a former West Virginian whose family still lives there, none of this surprises me. There was an article in CNN about the first case to be reported - a white man actually- and his wife had to go through hell just to get him tested, the whole time the gov’t was denying Covid even existed in the state.

I’ve never heard of this woman before. A 2 paragraph sample of one of her books, and the boring pastel covers of all her books, was enough for me. All of them about marriage and money and marriage and the pursuit of the perfect life. So fucking deep.

I don’t usually believe in snatching kids from their parents, but I would also argue that those 2 little dancing girls would be better off being raised in a home where they are taught love, not hate. Their futures look so grim to me. Teenage pregnancy, opioids, learning to “do better next time” when their “man” abuses…
