What an age we live in where the a 286 mph hypercar is announced (one that we can believe will actually see the light of day), and the most prevailing reaction is “meh” (mine included). Seems like they’re not doing anything really revolutionary here - just taking an already blisteringly fast car and making it what, 19

Too bad this isn’t 2010, because a stock Cobalt SS that cost less than 24k new (26k in today’s dollars) would still run circles around nearly every new car today that costs less than 30k when it comes to track performance.

I bought a silver coupe in 2008 when they first came out. I think I was the 2nd one in the state to get one. Kept it for just over 6 years, 85k miles, and loved every minute of it. It was a great little all-in-one package in terms of enjoyment, comfort and fuel economy (and practicality, if you had the sedan). Sure,

Actually if you wreck it you have to pay Car-Max back the extra amount of warranty used, since you’ll no longer be giving them free publicity.

I’m sure it has more to do with the story the author referred to and not anything to do with the BMW stereotype. It also could be the exact opposite of what I just said.

I notice a lot of elderly also two-foot drive in general. You know, that old Buick doing 10 under on the freeway, all brake lights on but not slowing down? They scare me.

I would love to know what goes on in the head of the person that made this.

You could have told her how you would have caught her on the way down and never let such a terrible thing happen to such a beautiful woman!

Actually that’s a great reason to sell it...although I wonder why someone else would buy it?

This is my #1 reason for wanting this. Maybe even my only reason. But it’s good enough.

Now cars just yell at you incessantly until you actually buckle the belt. It’s almost as good a deterrent to not buckling up as the idea of launching through the windshield when hit something.

If/when this or something like it becomes mainstream...CAFE will be re-written as they’ll need a new unreachable cap.

True, SH-AWD doesn’t have it, but Honda brought back all-wheel steering on some newer Acura models.

    Skeptical Jeep is skeptical.

    Game over. You win.

I could clarify for relevancy to the current article...I’m still in favor of innocent until proven guilty - but if the sentence is capital, I say do it and be done with it. Appeals should be months, not years, but such is the efficiency of our court system, and that is a discussion for another day.

True, they can sometimes cost more than non-death penalty cases. Each situation is unique, and often the biggest variable is prison time. When you keep someone on death row for 20+ years...yeah, the cost is going to add up and kind of defeats the purpose. Likewise if someone 60 years old gets life in prison and dies 5
