"Jon Hoeber says there's never been an alien invasion movie that stood up to determined scrutiny."

Jon Snow got to be the big spoon. <3

Oh man, is that Barb from "Cougartown?"

It happened because Chuck Austen basically wrote fanfic for several years and it was published as Uncanny X-Men. Seriously, it included a Mary-Sue ("Nurse Annie") whom he openly admitted he based on a combination of his wife and his mother. Meanwhile, Grant Morrison wrote (arguably) the best run on X-Men in the past

I'm still so-so about Bane's, but color me pleasantly surprised with how much Hathaway is really selling the Catwoman voice.

In the "real world" activism around HIV/AIDS constitutes an organized, dedicated lobby and several treatment options for HIV/AIDS which started as far too expensive for most folks have become increasingly accessible since they were first discovered (although not nearly as accessible as they need to be). I realize it's

Which is precisely why it should be made more accessible...

Some people championing condom usage as the only suitable or practical option (and a number of other commenters here overall) seem not to be familiar with the notion that serodiscordant couples do in fact exist and would probably appreciate the back-up peace of mind (condoms break) provided by this medication if it

It worked for me insofar as it makes readings of the film as an AIDS allegory (and it's none too subtle—the entire set is basically one giant bath house punctuated by hospital rooms) that much more convincing—anytime someone shows signs of intimacy in the film they pretty much get eaten.

I can see an argument for Starbuck/Anders and Lee/Duala being compelling, and I guess you're right that the quadrangle fits an IRL straight people problems trope, but I simply don't find the plot setups put in place to make either pairing seem believably desperate (under fire on a post-apocalyptic planet and being

In addition to the Tigh/Caprica 6 pairing, I'd also add that Anders and Starbucks' romance was pretty implausible. It was charming enough initially, and I guess the "let's survive the apocalypse" angle could make any attachment seem sexier, but the longer it went on the more falsely founded it seemed.

This tumblr collects a lot of "realistic" Pokemon art.

Now playing

Well gee, that's not so hard. Here, I can show you Magnetic Fields too.

Prepare to have your mind blown.

There's a line here, you know.

Sweet heavens, look at those pearly whites!

I'm missing something. Who's the dude in the photo?

No, no, this wasn't in the review highlighted above, this was a wholly separate profile of Peter Dinklage in The New York Times Magazine.

The Times also gratuitously spoiled large story points from the first season in an otherwise wonderful profile of Peter Dinklage. Granted, I'm very behind, but they were total throwaway sentences about character deaths.
