Actually, laptop sales have stabilized and the prediction is for growth albeit slow. Desktops and tablets have both declined and are expected to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. Laptops have gotten sufficiently powerful for most users and smartphones have long since superceded tablets for portability.

I think if you allow the driver to point the camera in the same way you point a side mirror a lot of those perspective issues would be mitigated. And I would underestimate driver’s ability to adapt to a static view. Think about how well we already adjust our position to see what we want to see out of a static mirror.
