I know that's easy to say, but did you read the part that says, "Water will swamp the refineries and pipelines that account for 30 percent of the U.S.'s oil and gas?" If you want to make the point that we should just suffer that loss, that's fine ... but if not, then we need to find some solution.

Fair enough, and I agree completely — I also approve of the recent (on Gizmodo yesterday, maybe?) Supreme Court stance that you can't just say whatever crap you want on Facebook, and claim no responsibility because of free speech. Consequences happen, whether that's making death threats in a forum, or posting

Damn you, Kobe Jerky people, for making my mouth sad! <shakes tiny fist angrily at the sky>

Yes; honestly, I tend to be too lazy (isn't that a terrible first-world sort of excuse?) ... I pick an amount, click on it, and then keep up with the updates later. But you're absolutely right: I should make the effort more often to remove myself from reward tiers that I don't care much about anyway.

I think the other poster is just trying to get some idea of what might be covered or not in the law. Like, if I broke up with my wife, and posted an image of her shin, and said, "My god, look what fat shins my ex-wife has!" .. would that be covered? What if it were her elbow? Nose? What if there were no picture,

In many, perhaps most, cases, that's true — it's how I bought my Pebble watch or various other geek toys.

In general, I agree with you — I've funded maybe 40-50 Kickstarter type campaigns, had 2 or 3 fail (1 for a scam; I admit to being taken by the Kobe Beef scam, and a couple with bad luck), and I'm quite content with that ratio.

Ah yes, wasn't that the Iraqi Information Minister, or something? I remember the Daily Show or Onion or something doing a recurring spot using footage from whatever craziness he was spouting that week. :)

Not quite a horror story, but ... a decade ago, we were flying Delta from New Jersey to Georgia. It was mildly rainy, and we were sitting on the runway for several hours (no water provided, since we were on a 'live runway', argh).

Ah, but notice that it's a spare part for the printer itself! :) If they waited until it broke, they wouldn't be able to print it. I thought that was rather meta-ly cool, actually.

Hi, Shane!

Hi, Shane!

Fair enough answers on all points. And yeah — there are some really impressive comics readers out these days!

Yes, I expect that would be awkward, at the very best. :)

Oh, there are certainly some possibilities. But mainly, using WatchKit 1.0, you don't make an app — you make some UI that hooks into some very specific display parameters (for short glances, long glances, etc.). Compared to iOS, things like touch input and tables are very regulated ... like you can't make a 3-colum

I'm going to have to reply with anecdotal evidence again for this, so take it all with variously-sized grains of salt. :)

As an app developer, I have to admit to being slightly disappointed when reading through the WatchKit documentation. Entirely my own fault: the items listed seem a very reasonable way to approach the "smart notification" system. But I make games for a living, and had been looking forward to finding clever ways to

Most of the studies I've seen have implied that it's not that people aren't using their tablets any more, but rather that the devices are too good — they bought one several years ago and continue to use it. This certainly matches anecdotally with everyone I know who has any version of an iPad, or the various Samsung

My family had English Bulldogs throughout my childhood and beyond. I loved them then, and love them still... but yeah, they're not going to win any intelligence contests. One of ours never learned how to back up, so he'd continually get stuck in corners where he couldn't turn around. The same one knocked a glass

We took advantage of one of these just the other day (after dithering between going 4k for a 55-inch screen, and getting a better-quality but only 1080p screen for now, and upgrading in a few years). The prices (and of course free delivery) are pretty darn good ... one additional thing to note is that you aren't
