I have the same issues watching movies about slavery. I just can't believe the things that people thought were acceptable, and I have a hard time accepting "well that's just a product of the times they lived in" as an excuse. I'm not sure who the audience for this movie is though in the sense of making it profitable/successful. A movie about her is going to be pretty unpleasant no matter where you are on the political spectrum.
