I actually find it more troubling that just because the computers were down, they were unable to render emergency care. We’ve been doing medicine for a lot longer than we’ve been doing electronic medical record-keeping. Could they truly not stabilize the patient and sort the rest of it out later?
The CDC just recently said that people are probably immune for *at least* three months - they are making a conservative, careful estimation there.
As with all things in science, they go with what they know until evidence suggests something different. Then they re-evaluate their assumptions. This is not new and it shouldn’t be surprising.

Thank you! I’m so tired of (some) environmentalists fighting against nuclear power. If we are going to beat global warming, we need fission power and renewables.
one from natural causes (Fukushima)
100% this. This article is absurd and full of nuclear fear mongering.
The process produces tons of highly radioactive waste, the ingredients to create nuclear weapons, potential instability that could lead to a destructive nuclear meltdown, and other concerning issues.
Nuclear Fusion Will Not Save Us
If we’re talking about how awful lithium mining is electric vehicles are a much better point for scorn than nuclear fusion, which is still a pipe dream at this point. whatever our future power structure is it will likely involve nuclear energy we just need to do a better job of using it in a way that doesn’t harm…

It just sounds like a bribe. Considering that it’s one business entity acquiring another, what does it even have to do with the government? Naturally, Trump will try to interfere if it happens, since he hates Bill Gates, but I just don’t see how he can set himself up as this shady middle man when he has nothing to do…
Wait, did Trump just put the US Govt. in the position of openly taking a bribe to facilitate a business transaction?
“It’s a little bit like the landlord-tenant [relationship].”
We have to worry about winning first. The finer details can be sorted out as the actual legislation works its way through Congress. After we’ve won.
I’m certainly not opposed to negotiating additional measures into the final legislation once Biden wins and the Dems tip the balance in the senate. But until then...the team’s gotta show some more unity if we want to solidify our odds of winning in the first place.
Or (c) continue to push Biden further, towards what needs to happen.
