It’s also an amazing place to live for quality of life as long as you obey the rules

I don’t see any patriotic, gun-owning Singaporans shooting up elementary schools, night clubs, churches and movie theaters though. So I guess something’s working over there.

Singapore, America with explicit and evenly applied laws, due process and no lynchmobs.

And as a result, you don’t see gum on the ground (banning imports, heavy fines for littering) or graffiti, and they’ve had less than 200 deaths in the past 30 years related to opioid usage (which is responsible for 585,000 premature deaths worldwide every year, for scale).

So is making money and living a good life. Have you ever been there? I have many times and it is a beautiful city with NO crime, delightful people everywhere (rich and poor alike) and great food.

A swing and a miss.. billions of dollars yearly going to green tech from big bad oil co’s.

Not to mention more and more power plants are using natural gas so even if you changed to electric heaters you would need a new source of energy to power those plants.

Exactly.

Remember as a young field engineer you’d called the boss/project manager to tell her about a problem? Then silence on the other end of the phone for what seemed like ages. Then she said, “yeah, so, what’s the solution?” Then she’d say, “call me back in a half hour, I got another call on the line.” And you’d have to

Shell says that “society will continue to need some energy products that create emissions for the foreseeable future.”

If Shell really wants to become environmentally sustainable, they could simply stop producing fossil-based energy.

Oh yeah, true - but my comment was kinda directly aimed at the “PhoneSoap” appearing on various media outlets.

It’s generally a good idea to clean it but you really don’t need anything fancy to do it. Phones tend to be germy because they are constantly in our hands. If you wash your hands but then touch your phone that has never been cleaned you kind of defeat the purpose of washing your hands.

I’m in this line of thinking. Right the ship, then course correct. Don’t try and do everything at once or we’ll just sink in a big shitty orange typhoon of stupidity.

Fuck off with this bullshit.

Lawsuits like this ignore the actual problem. The problem is that the US is horrible at recycling, and that applies to both the people here and the government agencies responsible for it. When China stopped buying our recycled plastic in 2017, we just started throwing it in landfills yet we somehow find a way to blame

Yeah, so what about EVERY OTHER SODA MANUFACTURER?

I suppose hes arguing more against the opening sentence of the article, rather than the headline itself. The things he points out are valid reasons why it would be easier to develop birth control for women/harder to develop birth control for men. Perhaps the science of preventing the ability to have children in women

Fist of all, the premise of this headline is false, in that there are two extremely effective methods of birth control available to men: condoms and vasectomies.

Just a heads up: If you get shitty or mean in these comments I’ll remove them. Go be an asshole somewhere else.
