Why don’t they send up a small retro rocket pack to do a controlled deorbit. The 2 year window tells me they really don’t know where it will be in 2 years and that is dangerous. The Prototypes involved in these tests are just that, prototypes, not commercial vehicles that the FAA or the DOT should have any jurisdiction over.  The FAAs only involvement should be in clearing the airspace that the vehicle would be expected to intersect in normal or failure modes.

I believe that the information on the location is incorrect. There is no where within 80 miles of of Cape York where the sea floor is deeper than 150 feet. The closest location to Cape York with a depth greater than 1600 feet is 105 miles east of Cape York.
