Thank you, Noel, for an enlightening piece. While I find the phrase amusing and don't mind using it to describe things in pop culture, I've often thought that "Happy Days" hadn't quite passed its prime at the moment of the phrase's namesake.
Since when do gay movies make the Academy voters, of all people, uncomfortable? Hollywood has been deeply supportive of the gay movement for decades. Not choosing one particular film over another doesn't automatically make them homophobic.

I'm kind of the opposite of the person who posted about Narnia. As a Christian, it's often awkward for me to be a fan of the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The metaphor, the plot twists, the rich characterizations, the way it redefined genre TV … yet I often don't agree with its aggressively sexual storylines…

The writer of this review made a very big deal about this episode breaking the "reality" of the show, coming back to that point again and again. The subtitle of the article is "Not a dream, not Halloween."

Very good list overall. I wouldn't start with "Side-Hackers," though. Its dark ending punishes the audience too much for taking the chance on a bad movie. They might not try another episode after that!

Great list. I respectfully disagree about the finale, though. All it did was rehash what we already saw the first time Diane left, and it diminishes some of the emotional power of the (original) final scene. And when all the characters just sit around talking, it was annoying and self-indulgent.
