Yeah, the kill-on-sight mentality of this game really sucks. One of my first interactions in the game was a solo player who rammed an island and sunk himself because he was too busy trying to shoot my parked sloop that I was playing dunken music on.

I play solo. I’ve never been able to take on a skeleton fort raid by myself, because some team of dicks in a galleon parks there and murders everyone who approaches.
The other day I was playing solo and saw a galleon attempting a pirate raid activity. I sailed to the opposite end of the island, picked off some peasky skeletons manning the cannons, and noticed they had repositioned their ship to fire on mine. They sunk my ship, came ashore and killed me.
I had a good time attempting to avoid a galleon that decided I was worth pursuing (I had no loot beyond the supplies I had left, but they wouldn’t know that till they caught me)...and I probably would have stayed out of their reach through turns and using islands if I hadn’t gotten stuck on the rocks trying to go…
I posted this on Reddit last week but it’s worth a share lol. I had just received my tester sails in Sea of Thieves so I wanted to play for 30 minutes or so and then hit up some Overwatch comp. 5 hours later I found myself in the mouth of the kraken thinking ‘how did I end up here at 1:00am.
The other night I was playing with some randos. We were on a galleon and had agreed with a sloop to work together on a fortress raid. We continually fought off an enemy galleon and eventually took the island. Immediately, two of our crew who hadn’t been talking (two of us had mics) turned on the sloop, sank it and…
