File me under hate the new Ghostbusters because UGHHH, NOT FUNNY, so UGHHH.

While she may be right, from what I understand Vivian became a wacky Scientologist despite her father's desperate pleas not to. I recall reading that she came to SK's funeral with bizarre handlers and went around talking to people about how she'd existed on this planet for thousands of years. The same piece I read

You should probably watch more films.

Thanks for sharing.

When you consider that the movie is a fairy tale about the human race being read by the member of the artificial beings that replace us, and an ending in which a robot (programmed to want its mommy so to suit its human owner) is granted one last night of artificial love and comfort, it is truly haunting.

I would argue that A.I. is his bleakest film. Humanity is not portrayed in the most positive of light, and the end of the film is quite dark (despite being confused by many viewers as a sappy, happy ending). I hated it upon my first viewing, but I watched it again several months ago and I think it's quite brilliant.

You should wait a little longer. B&N half-off Criterion sale starts 7/5.

Ah yes, including the rumored scene in which Keitel accidentally ejaculated in Kidman's hair, forcing him to be removed from the film? Total B.S., but I love the story anyway.

I'm forever glad Scorcese declared Eyes Wide Shut one of the best movies of the 90s when he was on At The Movies with Roger Ebert many years ago. It gave instant credibility to a movie which at the time was unfairly maligned by a good number of people. Fortunately, people have come around to the film in recent years.

No kidding. This is a GREAT sounding album. I bought it on vinyl a couple years ago. I assure you, it sounds fantastic on my turntable.

I actually think that outside of playing Khaleesi, she's quite terrible as an actor. Like, painfully bad. So, no. Please, no.

I did. I like it more now than I did then. It *is* as good as anything they've ever done.

FWIW, those were not filmed when he originally shot the film. He was approached to shoot additional scenes for when it aired on NBC.

Yes, the above poster is incorrect. He also was an uncredited director of Halloween II after the studio said it needed to beef up the gore and scares. Prior to taking it over, Carpenter said "It was a bunch of people walking around a hospital. It felt like an episode of Quincy." He also scored II and III.

I agree and I'll defend it endlessly. It was the first Halloween sequel since Halloween III: Season of the Witch to really try and do something different and not just ape the original. HIs first remake, however, was an absolute mess, and I think even he'd admit that.

and Skeletor in Masters of the Universe.

Don't feed the troll.

Lighten up, Jerry. There's a new girl over at One-Eyed Jacks….

From what I've heard, Judy is in S3. We'll be talking about Judy a lot.

It's worth seeing those deleted scenes for the extra stuff of Jeffries and the extended scene of the creeps above the convenience store. Lynch went back and tweaked the audio and the already weird scene is now just terrifying. Also, the new scene of BOB entering Laura via ceiling fan [shudders].
