I find some of the plotting to be pretty contrived. And the female lead is absolutely awful. But the premise is just interesting enough to keep it going, I think. And I absolutely love the warden. He, alone, is worth the price of admission.

My problem with the RIM OS is that it doesn't, or at least it didn't, sync your contacts, etc., unless you plugged it into your PC. Maybe they've fixed this; I don't know. The reason I like Android (I'm on my third phone) is, the fact that I don't ever have to think about whether I have someone's information with me.

What I don't understand is why they don't start building Android-based phones with the curve keyboard. Lot's of folks would probably buy one of those. This would, at a stroke, make RIM relevant once again. Instead, they stick with their obsolete OS. I just don't get it.

Ghost Boat!

Morricone's scores are endlessly fascinating. I love how each of the main characters has his or her own theme in Once Upon a Time in the West, for example. I will say, however, that I wish they would fix the guitar work in this scene. It's waaaay flat and has driven me crazy for decades. I think my favorite piece

The German angle is interesting, given that the same types of fires have occurred in Berlin in recent months — though I believe they caught the Berlin guy. Rather an odd coincidence, if you ask me.

I remember him once saying that parking a particular Mercedes with a bad turning radius was "like parking a moon."

How will I ever contain my ennui, err, excitement.

So, what do I use to remove the olive oil stain?

I was think that the wireless carriers should, you know, invest the fucking billions in profits that they're making to upgrade their data networks and increase available bandwidth. But, it's so much easier to do absolutely nothing and then charge people more for your not doing it. The Underpants Gnomes were on to

Thirty minutes? If you like eating mush. I'd do it for 3-5 minutes, myself.

Most of the time feral cats cannot be adopted. Too wild, unfortunately. So, in these cases the best strategy is spay/neuter and then release. The wild kittehs get to live out their lives, but at least they don't produce any more little kittehs. Seems to work, too. Trouble is, we need more people to pony-up cash in

The other major problem with weed, according to the DEA, is that its use can lead to arrest and incarceration. Tautology WIN!

And that's Richard Mulligan singing for his supper in between Little Big Man and The Big Bus.

$400k and I have to wind it? Shouldn't come with a winder-monkey, or something?

Single-hulled. You can thank Captain Joseph Hazelwood for this.

I really enjoyed the Privateer games of the mid-to-late 90s. X-wing and Tie Fighter were also a lot of fun, but Privateer had a non-linear story line that allowed you to explore the game in your own way. I haven't played this type of game in years, but I recently learned (here, maybe?) that there are several

Such a pretty car.

Likely a crater caused by a catastrophic release of methane-hydrate. Quite a few of these off the Atlantic coast of the U.S. I remember reading somewhere, years ago, that the Baltic has seen similar eruptions.

The reason Top Gear works, and it's the only reason it works, is because of the chemistry between Clarkson, May and Hammond. It also helps that Clarkson is a genuinely funny guy, in a Beyond-the-Fringe-y kind of way.
