+1. Personally, especially on Jalopnik, I find that badge snobbery goes both ways. No doubt that some people are badge whores for premium brands, but just as many or more people are badge haters against premium brands with not personal experience to support it.
I’ve driven two (and still drive one) e90 335i(s). Having driven the F30 as a loaner, they really are substantially different cars. The newer car being much more of a broad spectrum compromise. The older car was still very much a driver’s car.
I tend to agree with your point about him being old enough. If they said he was 16, I’d say, okay, he’s a dumb kid. At 20, he’s just dumb to be driving that way.
I know every state is different, but when I learned to drive at 16 in Ohio, seat belts were already required by law. I’ve never not driven with a seatbelt, and doing so feels very uncomfortable. I’m twice this kid’s age, so unless Rhode Island is way behind the times, then this guy has made a deliberate choice to be…
I’m still friends with girls I was friends with in high school. I’m 41.
I live in Cleveland. This is true.
Too true. “I mean seriously, when I saw that thing, my head literally exploded.”
Exactly what I thought when I saw this.
First thought I had, too, and came here to find it as the first comment. Bravo.
Just like the sub-optimally engineered F1 engine from which it was derived, right?
Sounds good, but that’s not accurate. In a typical, domestic passenger plane there are 6 seats per row. Only one person from each row can get out and stand in the row at one time, so yes, most of the plane is playing statue until you get your bag and get out of the aisle.
Are you asking whether SEMA the show is important, or whether SEMA the trade association is important? If it’s the former, then I’d say for people in the trade, it is important. Less so, for consumers. If it’s the latter, then I say, yes, the association is important.
As an experienced flyer, I can do this quickly, too. However, not faster than not getting my bag at all.
Jacob’s Ladder was the first thing that entered my mind when I saw that picture.
<PEDANTIC COMMENT>Not true. Tyler was the 10th president.</PEDANTIC COMMENT>
Not so sure it’s here to stay. The GOP, that is.
One thing that is factually evident from your montage is that the Toyota is going slower than all the other vehicles. Sounds like a real-world test to me.
Nice. My dad had this soundtrack on LP. I remember listening to it over and over as a kid.
