I've been wanting to do a Phil Silvers article for quite a while now, but my memory of it is rusty, and the only episodes on DVD are the first season ones. I'm very surprised it doesn't have a complete series set by now.

I really don't think the cancer is coming back. Maybe. But I don't think the show would repeat that particular arc. It's realistic that she would have a scare, but fiction sort of demands not doing cover versions of your most famous moments, if you want to stay creatively vital.

Garland's is always going to be the best, but it often takes a song being placed in a new context to get you to really listen to it. I've been hearing this song since I was 3 years old. So I wasn't exactly primed to parse the lyrics.
