Bev also took two episodes off. I know she still competed on LCK, but those cookoffs appeared to take about 10 minutes each. Nothing like a full-scale weekly challenge.

Spike wasn't nearly as bad as he's remembered. The hat, I get. But he was also pretty honorable in a few heated reality show moments (in his original season). Definitely not a top-4-level talent or anything, but I never hated him. Certainly seemed worlds ahead of people like soupy-Jaime.
Casey and umm…maybe that weird terrible model from S.1?
Probabilities fail
Hi Cookie—-You have me beat by a year! Hope the show stays this good (or gets better), but don't tell me.
I said it up above, but speaking as someone who's currently catching a bunch of reruns of the season 2-6 sweet spot during the week, the show has pretty clearly shifted. Analyzing the change is par for a good review, and preferring the previous incarnation is also perfectly reasonable in any opinion piece. Don't…
Well, I for one like the Sim's reviews. He clearly loves the show and isn't phoning these reviews in—-see plenty of other Tv Club reviews for examples of that. I'm right with him on the character beats seeming slightly off this season (and next I'm sorry to say). Of course the show is still funny, still brilliant…
Bev beat Chris J
So long as he stays away from the Broccolini. Funniest contestant they've had on the show so far, I think.
Yep, she's just as ugly as Megan Fox
Coming in too late here probably, but my two cents. The typos don't bother me nearly as much as the apparent lack of engagement with the show. I look at Zach's Star Trek reviews as the gold standard. There is very little plot rehashing and a lot more personal reflection and critical analysis of the show. I realize…
I have to say, the product placement that we joke about is really out of hand this year. I've never seen another show force so much canned brand compliments into the dialog itself, and its really started to affect my love of the show. Bring back the days when the quick fire is sponsored by the Glad Family of…
Beautifully written review from start to finish. I'm going to miss this old place.
I finally watched Breaking Bad this year after putting it off forever, and as with all things television I had to rush over to the AVC boards for the show.
What does everyone on this board know so much about cooking? I am aware of these things as words only, no more.
Is it just me or are these writeups getting shorter and less analytical every week?
Does everyone remember that guy a few seasons ago that was a dishwasher or something? He somehow made a perfect Indian curry for Padma when he'd never made it before, then MacGyvered a grill together on some other challenge? That guy was cool.
Ah Casey, hottest contestant in TC history. The attractiveness factor in this season is in the gutter, and that's saying something with a 30-odd person pool. I say give Casey a (third?) shot.
Sorry, but wherever it eventually got, DS9 started off bad too.
They look very similar
